New stations, new fob-vending kiosk, new map and more!
New stations, new fob-vending kiosk, and new map panel design equals one great day for Capital Bikeshare riders!
Three new 19 dock stations were installed at the following locations across DC today:
The asterick (*) placed next to the downtown location is a celebration of its own! This highlights our first Fob-Vendor Kiosk (aka bike key dispenser) available within the District. What that means is that newly registered annual members can now go to this kiosk to pick up their fob rather than wait for it to be mailed to them. This services those who go online to request a replacement fob as well. On our system map, you will see a black fob at that location indicating it as a bike key dispenser. Alexandria led the charge on this service and DC now joins Arlington and Montgomery County offering this at select stations.
Last but not least, there is a new map panel on display as well. New map? Yes. One that offers three new features, including:
This map is a prototype being tested and will be further updated to make sure its providing all the above information in the best scale and format possible. We welcome your feedback as well!
