Originally the idea of real estate entrepreneur Robert E. Simon, Reston has become an example for planned communities that feature a wide variety of housing, employment and activities for residents to enjoy. The museum houses a collection of materials related to the development, architecture, government, culture and social life in Reston from 1965 to today.
